October 10th is International Newspaper Carriers Day.
This one's not going to be around for ever, so celebrate it while you can! Back in the day, a paper route was one of the first jobs a kid could get. And when you think about it, it was pretty important stuff. Before the internet, the newspaper was your primary local news source.
Every day the newspaper carrier tossed the local paper on your doorstep. Once a week they also had to 'collect' from their customers. That was the worst part of the job. But with the proper attitude, those tips could add up quickly!
